Sustainable Agriculture
Harness the Power of Fungal Symbiotic Relationships for Your Crops
In sustainable agriculture, fungi are becoming increasingly recognized for their essential role in crop growth and development. Over 80% of crops have a symbiotic relationship with fungi, particularly mycorrhizal fungi, which help to enhance nutrient and water uptake, leading to improved plant growth.
At AEMTEK, we specialize in identifying and enumerating these beneficial fungi, providing our clients with the knowledge and tools needed to harness their power for more productive and sustainable agriculture.
Identification and Enumeration of Mycorrhizal Fungi
Our team at AEMTEK provides accurate and reliable identification and enumeration of mycorrhizal fungi. We offer services for both endomycorrhizal and ectomycorrhizal fungi, the two main types of mycorrhizal fungi.
Endomycorrhizal Fungi
Endomycorrhizal (Endomycorrhizal) fungi have a mutualistic relationship with most crop plants, such as wheat, maize, and rice. These fungi penetrate the roots and form arbuscules, specialized structures that increase the surface area of the root for nutrient and water uptake.
We offer identification and enumeration services for over 200 species of endomycorrhizal fungi, also known as arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) or vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhiza (VAM).
commonly recognized species include:
- Glomus clarum, Glomus deserticola, Glomus etunicatum Rhizophagus irregularis, Funneliformis mosseae, Rhizophagus clarus, Rhizophagus diaphanum, Rhizophagus irregularis, Funneliformis mosseae, Septoglomus constrictum, etc.
Ectomycorrhizal Fungi
Ectomycorrhizal (Ectomycorrhizal) fungi form a symbiotic association with the roots of trees like pine and oak. They form a sheath around the roots and extend hyphae into the soil, improving water and nutrient absorption.
We offer identification and enumeration of ectomycorrhizal fungi that can enhance the growth and yield of your crops, as well as increase their resistance to environmental stresses like drought and disease.
There are a few thousand species of ectomycorrhizal fungi.
commonly recognized species include:
- Amanita muscaria, Boletus edulis, Boletus subtomentosus, Lactarius deliciosus, Russula virescens, Suillus luteus, Tuber melanosporum, Inocybe geophylla, Paxillus involutus, Pisolithus tinctorius, Rhizopogon roseolus, etc.
